Radiation Safety & Exam
This course covers the principles and physics of radiographic methods, including equipment and techniques. It also addresses the basic requirements for protecting individuals from radiation exposure and ensuring the safety of radiation sources, such as X-ray and Gamma-ray equipment.
Course Content
- The Industrial Radiation Safety course covers the principles and physics of the Radiographic method including equipment and techniques.
- The course also covers the basic requirements for protection of people against exposure to radiation and for safety of radiation sources, either producing X rays or Gamma rays.
- Success in the course is a requirement for the candidate to register with the Department of Health: Radiation Control, through the SAINT Professional Body to obtain an authority to work with radioactive sources, providing the candidate has also been successful with Radiography Level I and/or II.
- It is for this reason that SANDE provides RT I and Radiation Safety as a combined course. It can however be done separately.
